Medical and Educational Disclaimer

Effective May 30, 2026

Debrief is a personal learning and reflection tool for clinical trainees. Please read this disclaimer carefully before relying on anything in the App.

Not medical advice

The content in Debrief, including transcripts, structured notes, generated review questions, and any answers to follow-up questions, is for educational and personal-reflection purposes only. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for the professional judgment of a qualified clinician, your supervising physician, or authoritative clinical references. Do not use Debrief to diagnose, treat, or make decisions about the care of any patient.

Automated output can be wrong

Debrief uses automated transcription and language-model processing to structure your recordings and to draft review material. This processing can misinterpret what you said, omit important context, or produce information that is inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete. Always verify any clinical fact against primary, authoritative sources before acting on it.

No patient information

Debrief is not a medical record and is not intended to store Protected Health Information. Do not enter patient-identifiable information. You are responsible for complying with your institution's policies and with applicable privacy laws.

Not a HIPAA-covered service

Debrief is a personal educational tool and is not offered as a HIPAA-covered service. We do not enter into Business Associate Agreements. Because the App is designed to be used without patient-identifiable information, it should not be used in any workflow that requires HIPAA-covered handling of patient data.

In an emergency

Debrief is not for emergencies. If you or someone else may be experiencing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.
