Terms of Use

Effective May 30, 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Debrief (the "App"), operated by Arvind Rajan. By creating an account or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Who can use Debrief

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract. Debrief is intended for medical students, residents, and other clinical learners using it for personal education and reflection.

Your account

You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Notify us promptly at hello@debriefapp.co if you believe your account has been compromised.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Your content

You retain ownership of the recordings, transcripts, and notes you create ("Your Content"). You grant Debrief a limited license to process, store, and display Your Content solely to provide the App's features to you, including transcription and automated structuring through the service providers described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to record and submit Your Content and that it contains no patient-identifiable information.

Not medical advice

Debrief is an educational and personal note-taking tool. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and its output may be incomplete or incorrect. See our Medical Disclaimer. Never rely on the App for clinical decisions.

Service availability

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and automated processing of your recordings may occasionally fail or produce unexpected results.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Debrief is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Arvind Rajan will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed one hundred US dollars (USD 100).

Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the App and its users.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, through an in-app notice. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
